Well I went to the big river yeaterday in search of some early flathead action. Instead I found the mother of all sheephead holes . and managed to get a few cats in the boat. 1 9lb blue, 1 7lb channel and 1 dink blue. Lost a 20lb in the anchor line. Beats work though!!!! pics at this link...http://www.ohiogamefishing.com/community/showthread.php?p=449645#post449645 |

Chuck,
How did you lose a fish in the anchor line did he swim clear upstream, and if not I hope you don't have a rear anchor out on your boat, if you did then get a couple of Doc's anchor buckets on that boat of yours, they will stop any sway as long as there is current...........Doc |

Hey Doc. I was fishing a big eddy in a cutout on an outside bend. The current was swirling and the boat was all over the place. I didn't even notice the fish was in the anchor line until I saw the rope at the rear of the boat!! That fish was wrapped 2-3 times in the slack rope. I was using a slip float rig and 17lb test mono. Good news is I think this spot would be awesome without the wind. Any luck your way?? Are you fishing any tourneys this weekend? |
