Made my rounds to most of the tourney sponsors in Columbus.
R & R Bait and Tackle. Picked up a new fish basket and Aaron got a small rod and reel for baitfish.
Fishermans Warehouse. Aaron got some bobbers and 4/0 hooks and a couple dozen crawlers. I bought some stuff there about a month ago.
Gander Mountain, East. 7' Ugly Stik, for my new abu 6000. A bait bucket and some Sufix 50# Braid. Aaron got a new cast net, he tore his old one.
Thanked them all for their sponsorship.
So my set up is.. Ambassador 6000 on a 7' MH Ugly Stik. Right now I have 40# Red Cajun line but will change to the Sufix. I use a 3 oz no roll sinker with a 4/0 hook, with live bait, or a 3/0 Kahle hook with cut bait. |

Sweet set up, I use the 7'0 MH Uglies too. They might not cast as far as the longer rods, but they sure are easier to maneuver when you have a smaller boat! AND they come with a heck of a guarantee, for the price. Jammer -did you get the Ugly Stik bag offer? I just got mine in the mail and it's pretty cool. It's the only soft-sider I have that's waterproof. Good size, too.
It's a great idea to express appreciation for the sponsorships. I go to Gander/West 'cause it's close to home. I frequent R & R 'cause it's close to work - Bill and Brian are good guys and they fish alot themselves.
I went to Fisherman's Warehouse last week. I wanted to thank Matt for his sponsorship, but he was fishing off the coast of North Carolina at the time... the dirty dog... |

I just sent for the bag. I've gotten three others but this one is a different style. Nice bags for the $7 shipping cost.
The one thing I've noticed with the stiffer pole is, I have to watch when I cast or I tend to throw the bait off. I casted about 40 yards the other day and had a creek chub almost land on my head. |
