| You need a fish basket so the fish stay alive. You can't stringer your fish because it is a catch and release tourny and the stringers are hard on them. |

6. Baskets or live wells only, no stringers with the exception of fish over 26”. 2lb deduction for any fish on a stringer under 26”.
From the official rules. All the rules are at the COCC Tournament Homepage at the top of this page. _________________ www.thecatfishnation.com |

I've seen guys tie a stringer on the side of their boat and end up with fish beaten to death. That's not good. I would use a tub or tote before a basket. _________________ Northeast Ohio Catfish Angler's Tournament Series

Hey Blue Collar. Sounds like you are on the right track now. I just got back from Niagra Falls, so sorry for the delay in response.
Jammer is right on with rule 6. ONly fish too large to get in a basket, 26" plus, can go on a stringer. If you must do this, please don't un it thru the gills. We would prefer to see everyone have a tote of some sort to put the fish in, but by the time you rig up an aerator, etc.. this can get expensive. This time of year, the aerator is probably not a must, but it is helpful. The bsakets can also be bought at Gander Mountain. I believe Fishermans West has some as well and R & R Bait and Tackle. If you don't have one by now, you bet bet is probably Gander mountain. Give me a call if you have any questions. 614-554-5894. |
