Odd that my favarite fishing is night fishing, but my night vision isn't all that hot.
Black lights and Big GameSolar line is a great way to compensate, but big game seems to sink and gets caught in the rocks and limbs, if I'm not tight-lining.
So I'm seeking a new hi-vis line that I can use with black light, bobbers, open bail, tight-lining, drifting... not asking for much, am I ????

Jeez Fin! Do want all of my secerets??? LOL! I like to use 20# Berkley Big cat line, which comes in solar green. It too will sink, but if cork fishing, I will spray it down with "reel magic." It doesn't really seem to effect the bite at all and puts somehow it keeps the line up better. I don't bother with that at all if drifting or bottom fishing.
It has been a while sonce I have used Stren Hi Vis Gold or Clear blue Flaourescent, but I beleive it may float a little better. Been so long that I can't remeber for sure. You may try rigging up poles with suffix flourescent line, stren and berkley an see ehat works best for you.
Talk to you later. |

Do ya think I could get them to shut off all the lights at Gander while I walk along the aisle with a black light?
I've heard good things about that Reel Magic before. Maybe I'll give that a shot on the line I have, before I give up on it. Cheap (so-and-so) that I am... |

Yeha, I am sure Gander would do anyhting to make a sale. LOL!
Reel Magic isn't super cheap, but it doesn't take much to get it to float. I uaully just spray a small bit on the line a couple of times a night.
Just another bit of info, Try keeping your bobber moving. Last year, I was "trolling" my cork alot more. Rarely did I let it set long and I caught way more fish than letting it sit. I would cast to different places, unless I found a certain pattern that produced fish each cast, i.e. trolling by stump, etc...
Upside, besides cathing more fish, is your line doesn't have the time to sink. |
