Since the tourney (6-16) Weve been out a few times, went to Hoover on 6-18 mon. fished around the Oxbow islands off the main lake had a hard time netting any shad 1 hour produced only 1 shad, (but we were lucky enough to have 1 big one jump into the boat while moving) So we set up off a nice dropoff 6 ft to 18ft and each hooked up a live shad, Used cut frozen on the other rods. After about 10 mins Mike landed a 5 lber on the cut and then 15 mins later his live shad pole sang its song and he landed a nice 10 lber, after that I missed one on my shad and lost the fish and the shad. So at point we decided to try to throw for some more live shad so we take off and chase em around and didnt get another 1.I gotta get better at this cast net thing! So then we cruise back to the spot and sit on cut bait for another hour or 2 and mike hooks into another 8lber. At this point it was 2 am and so I reluctantly called it a night (DAMN JOB lol) He had a great night mine Sucked Oh yea I ripped the hell outta the net also. We went back Thurs night and fished the same area with NO fish.
We also went up to Erie on Sat and fished the Grand River (Im the guy with no outboard just the trolling motor BTW so on the lake wasnt an option in my boat) We used shiners and frozen shad and crawlers and got a mixed bag of small fish (perch, crappie, rockbass , largemouths, and 1 small cat.) Then Sunday we got on a Charter and had a great time got drunk on the lake while netting some Eyes and Whitebass. used spoons only in about 40 ft just a mile off shore. The only problem was the captian said we hit our limit so we went in at 11am come to find out we were 22 Eyes shy, he didnt include his limit or the first mates and still shorted us 7 eyes off our 6 man limit, anyways we got screwed. Wanted to go off on the guy but it was a company trip type of deal and didnt want to make too big of an a$$ of myself. Still all and all a great weekend. Were going up to Alum tonight ill let ya know how we did. And Pics will follow if i can figure out how to do it on this site.

That is a screw job for an Erie Charter. Did you get the name? I want to avoid that guy.

Great fish, by the way!

Cool thanks Kevin great site there!
Yea thats a my big eye on the trip, he went 7.5 lbs and the Bullet was 7 even. and the Cat is Mikes 5lber from Hoover. Went to Alum on Tues Night and did alot better gettin shad caught about 30, but couldnt get any big cats biggest was a 1.5, 5 total. Going to Oshay tonight trying to get this old POS motor to run, so maybe we can have it for Saturday. PS If anyone comes across a decent running motor for 250$ or less please let me know (Horsepower is not as important to me as Easy to keep running, ill take anything from 3 to 10)

Oh yea the Charters Name was Reel Obsesion but hes private, he was actually filling in for another guy whos boat broke down morning of the trip, so he was in a Hurry i guess.
