me and my partner were out at Buckeye Lake last Thurs 6-7-07 Fished all around Cranberry Marsh from 6 till 2am bite was very slow only landed 6 all night and all were under 3lbs, had Frozen cut shad that didnt produce a bite and Liver and Crawlers, all fish were right next to bank------ Went to Alum, N of Howard Rd. Last night 6-11-07 fished the shallow coves with fresh shad and did a little better 8 fish Biggest 6.5 most were right at 2.5 plus we lost 3 that wrapped around the down trees we were in. Recently we havent been doing any good in water over 8 ft deep they all seem to be shallow now. Going out now up to Oshay see what happens up there.
PS can anyone recomend an area for Shad up there? Weve been searching and cant find any #'s of em just a few here and there. _________________ Baitcasters are junk! |

| Thanks for the reports Steelwolve. As far as Shad at Oshay are concerned, they have been hard to come buy. I have been looking for skittering and casting in those areas. hard to tell when the wind was up. I didn't do bad Saturday straight across from the docks. I was netting them in about 16ft of water, but they were all up in the first 5' of water. Saw lots in some coves down by Twin Lakes. Hope this helps. |

Mike,
Good thing last Saturday wan't a tournament event. Dave and I took both boats. Dave and my brother fished out of his boat while my oldest son, myself and two of his buddies fished out of mine. Total out of two boats combined was 7 fish with the biggest going about 4 lbs. I didn't catch a thing and I don't believe Dave did either. That cold high pressure front really turned them off for us. We fished deep and shallow moving numerous times. You do any better?

Thanks for the tips on shad, tried again last night at Oshay didnt get any. Saw a few on top but none in the net. I am good at catchin crappies and bluegills in the cast net though... all were released unharmed ...its a shame too cause they would make great cutbait. We did have some frozen shad left over from buckeye and caught 2 channels. Hopefully we get some rain in the next day or 2 to get them active again. Also thought we saw a boat from the Tourneys last night. It was a pontoon with a top and was fishing red glowstick. _________________ Baitcasters are junk! |

Well, your luck was about the same as mine on Saturday. You actually did considerably better. I managed to get one about 6lbs. My girlfriend went out with me and she missed a few good runs, but it was only her second time out and I am still trying to teach her what to do when the bait clicker starts sounding off. I sware the one ran for 10 seconds.
Steel, You probably saw Jason and Arden out fishing. They went out last night for a while. I have no idea how they did. Hopefully better than I did tonight. I had one cork go down and unfortunately that took me straight into a tree. My girlfriend went out again and managed to catch one channel. Slow night though. Not too many bites. We were pretty much trying all new spots.
See you all on Sat. |

Heh heh heh - leave the front anchor down and see how much wood you can collect before you come to a complete stop. |
