Well, the schedule is almost set in stone. I have to make it down to Columbus Department of Recreation yet to get permits, but witht he night tournaments, I don't anticipate that being an issue.
Does anyone have any preferences for a ramp to launch from at Hoover tournaments? We have to reserve a ramp and I am not that familiar with the lake yet. |

The ramp at the end of Red Bank Road is about the nicest, paved and has restrooms. Convenience store close by that sells bait. I haven't had any luck around there.
Most of the guys I talk to, go north on Sunbury Rd. The ramp is north of town just before Sunbury Rd crosses over the lake. It's a gravel lot and I think it's got a porta-pot. I don't know if there are any lights there. Fishing seems to be best north of the bridge.
Remember, Hoover has a 10 hp limit. |

Yea the Red Bank ramp is by far the nicest, but as Jammer said the Baldridge ramp is the ramp of choice for most Catmen I know that fish the lake. I unfortunaltly dont think that ramp would work for the tourney though. Its a smaller gravel lot with a concrete ramp and wooden dock, the lot is lighted but not very well, aslo by sept. of last year the water was so low there that it was inacessable to most boats. I know Mike and I would vote for the baldridge ramp but would strongly advise you take a trip to see for yourself. Just as a side note incase anyone wasnt aware Hoover is a 10 Hp lake and surrounded by watchful homeowners. Im really looking forward to Hoover being on the schedule this year, last year we got 5 channels over 10 lbs and probally 30 in the 7-9 range. _________________ Baitcasters are junk! |

| Thanks for the info guys. I was kinda thinking that Red Bank would be the best. Everyone I have talke to said this is the nicest ramp that isn't too far from the north end. Sometimes Columbus limits which ramps you can use though. I would think Red Bank would be a ramp that would be allowed though. |
